Hemos visto algunos en las clases y realmente los recomiendo. ¡Una buena idea para practicar vuestro español en las próximas vacaciones!

"Billy la Bufanda has always been my most well-known song. I find this popularity to be rather humorous, since it is far and away my most ridiculous song. It’s about a scarf that goes places and does things, despite the fact that being a scarf makes it impossible to do those things and go to those places. I imagine that many find this lack of logic to be annoying, but I personally find it to be rather endearing.

The Origin of Billy la Bufanda

Four years ago, I wrote an original story about Billy la Bufanda. My students and I were working on a chapter that included winter clothing vocabulary. Therefore, I crafted a short story about a scarf that hates all other clothing. One day he falls to the ground and meets a pair of boots. He immediately falls in love with them, and they with him. However, before they have a chance to get to know each other, Sr. Wooldridge picks the scarf back up, and Billy never sees the boots again.

For some reason, my students absolutely loved the story of Billy la Bufanda, and regularly begged me for more. Hence, the song".

¡Practica tu español en la cocina!

Sé que a muchos de ustedes les gusta cocinar. Como saben no es mi pasatiempo favorito pero a veces, solo a veces, cocino con buenos resultados. Comparto con ustedes esta receta de TORTILLA de PATATAS.
Explica claramente usando la forma presente con "nosotros": "cortamos", "pochamos" etc...
En los subtítulos, los mismos verbos están en infinitivo: "lavar"; "cortar"; "pochar" etc...
Estas dos son formas alternativas al uso de la forma imperativa.
Espero que lo disfruten.

I know many of you like cooking. As you know this is not my favorite pastime but sometimes, just sometimes, I cook with good results. I share with you this recipe for TORTILLA DE PATATAS.
It clearly explains the procedure, using present tense with "we": " we cut", " we fry" etc.
In the subtitles the same verbs are used in infinitive: "wash", "cut", "fry" etc.
These two are alternative ways to use the imperative form.

En una de las clases estamos aprendiendo imperativos y he encontrado este video de You Tube graciosísimo donde se usan verbos en imperativo.
In one of the classes we are learning imperatives and I found this hilarious YouTube video where  verbs in imperative form are used.
Para comprenderlo mejor, les dejo algunas de las frases que dice el contestador automático. Las formas en imperativo formal (con "usted") están en rojo.
To understand this better, I have written some of the phrases that the automated voice says. The imperative forms (formal, with "usted") are in red.

" Bienvenido al nuevo servicio de confesión automática de la iglesia católica"
"Welcome to the new automatic confession service of the Catholic Church"
"Diga su nombre"  "Say your name"
"Indique por favor el pecado que ha cometido"
 " Please indicate  the sin you have committed"
"Indique con el teclado, el número de mujeres con las que ha cometido adulterio"
 "Using the keypad indicate the number of women you have committed adultery with"
" Ha cometido adulterio once veces, espere a que se imprima su penitencia y recuerde si no la cumple usted se irá al infierno"
"your sin is adultery, committed eleven times, wait for your penance is printed and remember if you do not comply you will go to hell"

No olvidar los acentos

Como todos sabemos en español,  a diferencia de otras lenguas, usamos acentos o tildes. La tilde indica que tenemos que pronunciar la sílaba acentuada con mayor fuerza. Los acentos también son importantes porque indican muchas veces una función diferente (y un significado diferente ) de la misma palabra.
Por ejemplo: sí significa "yes" , mientras que si (sin acento) significa "if."

As we all know in Spanish, unlike other languages​​, we use accents or tildes. The tilde indicates that we have to stress the syllable where the accent is placed.  The accents are also important because they often indicate a different function (and a different meaning) of the same word.
For example, sí it means "yes", while si (no accent) means "if."

For accented vowels: Press Ctrl + ‘, then the vowel (ctrl + ' + a = á)

For Ñ: Press Ctrl + ~, then the letter n (ctrl + ~ + n = ñ)
The second way is using the ASCII code. Each character in your computer has a code made up of pressing the ALT key then a three-digit number, all of which are listed below.

é = Alt + 0233

í = Alt + 0237
