Gracias al internet tenemos acceso a muchísimos recursos para aprender español. He encontrado este sitio con buenos podcasts(1). Las Unidades 1  a la 6 son gratuitas y cada Unidad incluye 6 lecciones. Un excelente recurso si quieren mejorar la pronunciación.

Thanks to the internet we have access to many resources to learn Spanish . I found this site with good podcasts( 1). Units 1 through 6 are free and each unit includes 6 lessons. An excellent resource if you want to improve your pronunciation.

Finalmente puedo actualizar el blog y volver a la “normalidad”. Mis problemas con los computadores están  casi solucionados y mi curso casi terminado ( İy… aprobado!)

Hoy quisiera recomendarles un sitio que algunos de mis estudiantes usan para sus estudios de español FLUENCIA.

I can finally update the blog and return to my "normal” routine. My problems with computers are almost resolved and I’ve “almost” finished my course (and I’ve approved it!)

Today I recommend a site that some of my students are using to improve their Spanish. FLUENCIA . See below for the description.

 

“Fluencia is an online based platform that teaches Spanish through a highly visual method. So instead of a lot of text, there are a lot of visual aids to guide the learning process.

There are five levels for Fluencia, with 10 units per level. Within each unit, there are various types of lessons covering a conversation, vocabulary, grammar, culture and communication.

It’s really a mix on how the lessons are presented. At times, there are conversations you can hear and follow along, there are also places where you have to type the translation of an English phrase, and there are places where you match the picture with the correct Spanish phrase.

The platform itself is very intuitive and easy to use. There are also lots of pictures and visual aids cleverly weaved into each lesson”.

DELE exams

Hola a todos,

¿Qué tal? Espero que se encuentren todos bien. Personalmente he estado bastante ocupada, por las últimas tres semanas he estado haciendo un curso para ser examinadora de las pruebas DELE. He completado los niveles A1 y A2 (¡BRAVO!!!!!) y este fin de semana comienzo con los niveles B1 y B2. El curso lo dicta el Instituto Cervantes.
Pero… ¿Qué son las pruebas DELE? Son pruebas que valoran el dominio del español , esta evaluación se hace considerando criterios específicos de acuerdo a un marco común de referencia.  Estos exámenes son reconocidos internacionalmente y la organización que los regula es el Instituto Cervantes.

How are you? Hope you all are well. Personally,  I have been very busy during the past three weeks. I've been doing a course to become a DELE test assessor. I have completed the A1 and A2 levels (BRAVO !!!!!) and this weekend I’ll start levels B1 and B2. The course is run by the Cervantes Institute.

But ... What are the DELE tests? They are tests that assess Spanish proficiency, this evaluation is done considering specific criteria according to a common frame of reference. These exams are internationally recognized and the organization that regulates them is the Cervantes Institute.

Semana Santa

Hola a todos,

Espero que estén disfrutando del fin de semana largo. Como todos saben en esta fecha los países de habla hispana celebran la Semana Santa, unas fiestas profundamente religiosas. He encontrado un video de “Tio Spanish”, un curso de videos para estudiantes de español, donde se explica de manera muy didáctica  cómo se celebra esta fiesta en Sevilla. Algunas recomendaciones:
Escuchar diferentes estaciones de radio hasta encontrar la major para ti.
Escuchar cada dia.
No te preocupes si no entiendes todo al comienzo
Trata de usar el contexto para entender lo que escuchas (palabras familiares, música etc)
Trata de entender un poco más cada vez.
Se paciente y persistente
Y...lo más importante es disfrutarlo.

Some recommendations:
Try a few different stations until you find one(s) that seem to work best.
Set aside some time each day to listen.
Don't worry if you don't understand anything at first.
Use any contextual clues available to you to begin to understand what you hear.(familiar words, music)
Try to understand a little more each time you listen.
Be patient and persistent.
Most of all, have fun.

Fascinante  y sin duda inspirador. Espero que les sea útil.

Hello everyone, some students have recommended the site Babbel to learn Spanish. Exploring this site I found a very interesting article with 10 tips to learn a language. The  most fascinating part is to see, and hear , Matthew Youlden speaking fluent in 9 languages ​​. Fascinating and  certainly very inspiring. I hope you find it useful .

La gramática con el Señor Jordan

Espero que se encuentren muy bien. Buscando en la red  hace un tiempo, encontré los
 videos del Señor Jordan. El Señor Jordan es un profesor joven que vive en Estados Unidos y ha creado una serie de videos para explicar contenidos gramaticales y también para practicar conversación. Hay videos para niveles básicos e intermedios.
Lo que más me gusta de sus videos es la claridad de las explicaciones, su pronunciación del español y sobre todos su sentido del humor.
Debo agradecer al Señor Jordan por presentarnos la gramática de una manera tan amena.

I hope you are doing well. Searching the net a while ago, I found the videos of Mr. Jordan . Mr. Jordan is a young Spanish teacher who lives in America and has developed a series of videos to explain grammar content and to practice conversation. There are videos for basic and intermediate levels.
What I like most about his videos is the clarity of the explanations, his pronunciation of Spanish and above all his sense of humor.
I must thank Señor Jordan for giving us such a entertaining way to learn Spanish grammar.
