Vamos a reir con el imperativo

En una de las clases estamos aprendiendo imperativos y he encontrado este video de You Tube graciosísimo donde se usan verbos en imperativo.
In one of the classes we are learning imperatives and I found this hilarious YouTube video where  verbs in imperative form are used.
Para comprenderlo mejor, les dejo algunas de las frases que dice el contestador automático. Las formas en imperativo formal (con "usted") están en rojo.
To understand this better, I have written some of the phrases that the automated voice says. The imperative forms (formal, with "usted") are in red.

" Bienvenido al nuevo servicio de confesión automática de la iglesia católica"
"Welcome to the new automatic confession service of the Catholic Church"
"Diga su nombre"  "Say your name"
"Indique por favor el pecado que ha cometido"
 " Please indicate  the sin you have committed"
"Indique con el teclado, el número de mujeres con las que ha cometido adulterio"
 "Using the keypad indicate the number of women you have committed adultery with"
" Ha cometido adulterio once veces, espere a que se imprima su penitencia y recuerde si no la cumple usted se irá al infierno"
"your sin is adultery, committed eleven times, wait for your penance is printed and remember if you do not comply you will go to hell"

No olvidar los acentos

Como todos sabemos en español,  a diferencia de otras lenguas, usamos acentos o tildes. La tilde indica que tenemos que pronunciar la sílaba acentuada con mayor fuerza. Los acentos también son importantes porque indican muchas veces una función diferente (y un significado diferente ) de la misma palabra.
Por ejemplo: sí significa "yes" , mientras que si (sin acento) significa "if."

As we all know in Spanish, unlike other languages​​, we use accents or tildes. The tilde indicates that we have to stress the syllable where the accent is placed.  The accents are also important because they often indicate a different function (and a different meaning) of the same word.
For example, sí it means "yes", while si (no accent) means "if."

In Office for Windows:

For accented vowels: Press Ctrl + ‘, then the vowel (ctrl + ' + a = á)

For Ñ: Press Ctrl + ~, then the letter n (ctrl + ~ + n = ñ)
The second way is using the ASCII code. Each character in your computer has a code made up of pressing the ALT key then a three-digit number, all of which are listed below.

á = Alt + 0225

é = Alt + 0233

í = Alt + 0237

ó = Alt + 0243

ú = Alt + 0250

ñ = Alt + 0241

ü = Alt + 0252

¡ = Alt + 0161

¿ = Alt + 0191

Espero que estén disfrutando de este fin de semana largo y espero que tengan un tiempito para explorar el blog y seguir progresando en el aprendizaje del español.

Un paseo por el arte

Hola a todos. Espero que se encuentren bien y contentos. He tenido una semana bastante agitada, con mucho trabajo y MUCHO estudio también. La semana pasada tuve una "MALA RACHA" , esta expresión significa un período de mala suerte. Ja ja ja. Todos tenemos mala racha de vez en cuando, esta semana todo ha sido mejor, espero que sea una "BUENA RACHA".

Con la clase de conversación de los jueves visitamos este sitio del Museo del Prado. Un sitio interactivo para niños que me parece genial. Los llevará en un tur por el museo y por las obras de los pintores más famosos. Yo no sé mucho de arte y con este sitio he aprendido información interesante y de una manera muy entretenida. Hello everyone. I hope you are well and happy. I had a week quite hectic, with hard work and lots of study. Last week I had a "MALA RACHA", this expression means a period of bad luck . Ha, ha, ha. We all have bad luck from time to time, this week everything has been better, I hope to have a "BUENA RACHA". With the Conversation class on Thursday, we visited this site from the Prado Museum. An interactive site for children that I think is great. It will take you on a tour around the museum and the art works of the most famous painters. I do not know much about art and with this site I have learned information in an interesting and very entertaining way. I leave you with the Infanta Margarita. Hope you enjoy.

TRANSLATE poems, short stories, short articles from Spanish newspapers (Ask in your local news agency for Spanish newspapers).

Descubriendo la red

Hola amigos. Espero que se encuentren bien y con buena salud. ¡Qué clima hemos tenido! ¿no? A pesar de vivir en Melbourne 18 años todavía me sorprendo al ver (y sentir) tantos cambios en un día. Encontré una serie de videos de la Fundación de la lengua española que pienso que les gustarán.

A petición de algunos estudiantes, aquí tienen la transcripción: " Es donde nadan los peces y el agua es muy salada... eh...pueden haber otros tipos de peces y hay...hay corales y hay muchas olas, se pueden hacer muchos deportes, estar en la playa, se puede nadar, se puede bucear, mirar peces..."

¡Es increíble! ya estamos en octubre y quedan solo tres meses para que se acabe el año. Yo he estado muy ocupada con el curso de formación de profesores de español. Todo bien y tengo muchas novedades que iré compartiendo con ustedes en las clases.
Esta semana comenzamos un nuevo trimestre como siempre por ocho semanas. Doy la bienvenida a tres estudiantes nuevos: Maureen, Claire y John y me despido de dos lindas señoras, Jane y Leanne, que recorrerán parte del mundo en sus motocicletas pronto.

It's amazing we are in October and only three months before the end of the year. I've been busy with the training course for teachers of Spanish. All well and I have many new features that I will share with you in class. This week we begin a new term as always for eight weeks. I welcome three new students: Maureen, Claire and John and I say good bye to two nice ladies, Jane and Leanne, that will tour the world on their motorcycles soon.
